‘Ard Boyz List: Imperial Guard

After a ton of agonizing army builds, I’ve settled on my list for tomorrow’s event. Although I don’t think that horde IG will be as much fun as my other lists, this will probably be my last opportunity to do well in a tournament with Guard! I just can’t pass it up! So here is my MIN-KP IG army:

10-man Battle Sisters Squad (Meltagun, Heavy Flamer, Book of St Lucius)
NOTES:
1. Kill Points: The army has 10 Kill Points, but good luck getting more than two. With independent deployment, Reserves, Deep Strike (and Infiltrate on my Last Chancers), I plan on spreading around the board.
2. Schaeffer: I decided on taking Schaeffer and some Last Chancers instead of more Infantry Squads so that I could have another special weapons team and a demo charge (and I think the infiltrating Autocannon will be fun). It’s probably a mistake, but there’s no way you can get those 3 kill points without killing my entire army. I’m taking advantage of Schaeffer’s (and Kage’s) independent character status to attach them to larger units.
3. Sisters of Battle: I love Books of St Lucius! They give me the option of holding in the most dire of circumstances (and I don’t have to use them, in case I want to lose a close combat). They are durable and have lots of tricks up their sleeve. These 2 KP are probably the only ones I’ll give up in any game (but they will be great help in Scenarios 1 and 3).
4. Doctrines: I’m taking Drop Troops on just about every unit (even though I doubt that I will drop more than one squad per platoon — just to spread them out more). But it gives me some options for tough fights like Scenario 3. I considered Light Infantry, but I don’t think in the long run it’s worth it with this army. We’ll see how tomorrow goes.
I probably could’ve done a nastier army if I borrowed some models (e.g., 10 more plasma guns would’ve done it), but I just couldn’t bring myself to it.
