The final answer from the Trade guys running the event is: Armoured Company does not get any special rules for this event. So, Troops tanks for the list cannot hold objectives.
This nice little note arrived in my mail box this afternoon. It’s from John Spencer (GW Customer Service Specialist). This was also confirmed by a particulary tenatious Fly Lord who managed to crawl his way up the chain to the guy that’s running the ‘Ard Boyz Final.
